The Required Disclaimer On Your Citation

On April 27th, 2016, Governor Bill Haslam signed SB2492 into law.

As enacted, the amended SB2492 requires that every notice of violation or citation issued that is based solely upon evidence obtained from any traffic enforcement camera used to enforce or monitor traffic violations of the requirement that motor vehicles stop at a red light, include a disclaimer stating that nonpayment of the notice or citation cannot adversely affect the person’s credit score or report, driver’s license, and/or automobile insurance rates. – Amends TCA Title 55, Chapter 50 and Title 55, Chapter 8.

All traffic camera citations must now include the disclaimer.   You do not have to pay them! They cannot affect your driving record, credit report, or insurance rate and it’s the law!
