Camera Companies and Law Enforcement Agencies Now Taking Advantage of a “Loophole”

It has come to our attention that Blue Line Solutions out of Chattanooga Tennessee has taken advantage of a loophole in the TCA in regards to “unmanned” cameras.   They are now using police offers to hold the camera, record the speed, upload the pictures to their server, and then they are processing the “citation” in the same way as the “unmanned” speed cameras do.  The officer does not pull over the vehicle and the “citation” is sent to the registered owner of the vehicle.  The citation contains the same disclaimer about not putting points on your drivers license, reporting to your insurance, or affecting your credit rating as the unmanned traffic camera “citations”.

There appears to be no mention in the TCA of “manned” speed cameras so please contact your state senator and representative and ask them to address this loophole in the law in the next legislative session.
